Bowmore Bicentenary - Bottled 1979
When Bowmore turned two-hundred years old in 1979, the distillery decided to mark the occasion in style. Among the results is this: one of several ‘bicentennial’ releases, crafted using a blend of whiskies distilled over the previous two decades. It’s widely considered among the best Bowmores in history!
Brora 1977 - 38 Year Old - 15th Release - Special Releases 2016
The Brora distillery ran from 1819 to 1983, and now whisky lovers have a chance to sample the mothballed distillery’s 1977 vintage. The mesmeric malt, which aged in refill European oak butts and American oak hogsheads, fuses peat, smoke and ash before finishing with notes of sea salt.
Brora 1978 - 35 Year Old - 13th Release - Special Releases 2014
Slowly aged for 35 years, this limited edition single malt is a 2014 special release that gently acquires its rich and complex palate. Opening with waxy notes that blend with fruity elements of pineapple, it is completed with hints of vanilla.
Brora 1981 - 40 Year Old - Prima & Ultima 3
The 1981 Brora is an ultra-rare release that showcases elegance through restraint. With fragrant notes of scented candle wax, smoke, and blooming flowers, this whisky has a smooth, mouth-filling texture. The rounded taste is sweet and lightly smoky, with a dash of salt mid-palate, while the finish is long and carries a light smoke.
Brora 1982 - 34 Year Old - Special Releases 2017
A limited edition Brora, bottled and released by Diageo in 2017. The 34 Year Old distilled in 1982, a year before the distillery shut up shop. Go on, sample a little piece of scotch whisky history: you won’t regret it.
Bruichladdich 1988 - 30 Year Old - Rare Cask Series
An exquisite entry into Bruichladdich’s much revered Rare Cask series, this monster was distilled back in 1988 and left to mature for fully 30 years in bourbon and refill squat hogsheads at the Islay distillery. The alluring copper hue hints at the suitably complex flavour profile, but you’ll certainly pick out notes of coconut and mango, as well as a refreshing touch of mint to finish
Bunnahabhain 1963
One for the collectors, this stunning old style bottling from Bunnahabhain was left to mature for around 33 years before being bottled in the mid 1990s. This is sweeter than your normal Islay release, just an ever so slight hint of peat quickly giving way to stronger notes of apple and pear
Bunnahabhain 1965 - 35 Year Old - Sherry Cask
The rarest of malts, this 35 year old Islay single malt harks from esteemed distillery Bunnahabhain. Distilled in 1965 the whisky spent its full maturation, over three decades, in a single sherry butt. The cask was eventually outturned in 2002, yielding a highly limited 594 bottles. A celebratory release by Bunnahabhain in honour of Islay's Feis Ile Festival. Notes of dark chocolate and leather.
Bunnahabhain 1968 - Auld Acquaintance
A charming nod to the Scottish tradition of sharing a dram as Auld Lang Syne plays at Hogmanay (New Years Eve) this celebratory whisky is a rare and collectable offering by Islay distillery Bunnahabhain. Distilled in 1968, the whisky rested for 34 long years in the highest quality sherry casks before bottling in 2002. Auld Acquaintance is unlike any other single malt: the most special of releases by Bunnahabhain distillery. Notes of sweet smoke.
